NEW ICPF UNIVERSITY ENDOWMENT TO FURTHER EXPAND CORRUGATED PACKAGING EDUCATION

February 6, 2018

Alexandria, VA...Over the past two decades, ICPF has placed almost 12 million dollars of equipment, and millions more in software, at the packaging programs within colleges and universities around the country.  While these colleges and universities signed agreements to place the maintenance and replacement of the equipment into their individual capital improvement budgets, there are additional opportunities to encourage and further support the growth of corrugated packaging & displays curricula at college programs.  This past quarter, ICPF sent a request for proposals (RFP) to the more than two dozen universities with which it has partnered to determine ways in which it can best advance their current corrugated packaging curricula.  This spring, ICPF's plans to select three of the submitted proposals to receive up to $150,000 each for new initiatives that might include expansion or early introduction of corrugated packaging design education in the sophomore year, addition of dedicated corrugated packaging student internships, the addition of corrugated faculty, the introduction of corrugated marketing and sales or business into packaging course work, the development of a new corrugated packaging program at a university or college in an underserved region, a prototype to track students and their career choices, or other creative proposals that will enhance student knowledge and further promote career opportunities in the corrugated packaging & displays industry.  More information on this new endowment program will be reported in the upcoming months.
