Loveland, Ohio; October 26, 2009—The Sustainable Green Printing PartnershipSM welcomes
the addition of C&H Packaging as the tenth printer to become a certified SGP Printer.
Since opening the certification program just over a year ago, the SGP Partnership has
received a steady flow of applications from facilities wanting to be recognized for their
sustainability efforts. In addition to the 10 certified SGP Printers, there are more than 50 SGP
Applicants working through the certification process.
Printing facilities located in the United States and Canada are eligible to apply for certification
with the SGP Partnership. A complete listing of certified SGP Printers (and SGP Applicants)
is available at www.sgppartnership.org to provide easy identification of printers on their
sustainability journey.
The SGP Printer is fully verified as being in conformance with established program criteria.
These criteria encompass a holistic approach to sustainability, going beyond consumables
and their environmental impact. SGP Printers must meet all applicable environmental, health
and safety requirements and commitments, along with specific requirements relating to the
establishment of a sustainability team; the implementation of a sustainability management
system (SMS); the use of SGP program metrics; taking specific steps to reduce the facility's
environmental footprint; implementing pollution prevention activities; and committing to
fundamental social and ethical norms. Additionally, SGP Printer status includes annual
reporting and a biennial certification audit requirement. Certified printers are assigned a
certification number and logo for use on their printed products to indicate it was "Printed by a
SGP Printer."
C&H Packaging joins a growing group of printers who are certified SGP Printers and includes:
Fineline Printing Group, Indianapolis, IN; Pictura Graphics, Minneapolis, MN; Pratt
Corporation, Indianapolis, IN; The John Roberts Company, Minneapolis, MN; Monroe Litho,
