See LENSTAR FLEXO at Pacur’s Booth #531 – Info*Flex Show Orlando, FL
Orlando, May 4, 2009 — Pacur, the world’s largest extruder of lenticular materials, LENSTAR® Flexo rolled material in stock and ready to ship. Rolls are available immediately in 10-, 13-, 160, and 20-inch widths.
Four different printers have successfully tested the lenticular flexographic material using interlacing technology from Pixalen Studio and Kodak’s Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic System. This combination has achieved outstanding results that exceed any previous efforts in flexographic lenticular printing.
The ability to print on rolled lenticular material is a tremendous development for applications such as labels and product packaging because printing flexographic lenticular is more cost-effective than printing traditional sheet-fed lenticular. Flexographic lenticular lends itself to a wide array of product and promotion application in areas such as food, beverage, personal care, and health care product packaging; magazine covers; promotional items; direct mail pieces; and point-of-purchase displays.
In the current economic climate, producers are finding it more important than ever to differentiate their products on store shelves, said Bruce Hammerbeck, vice president of marketing for Pacur. “Lenticular print adds values and excitement to product packaging. These amazing images would have been cost-prohibitive for most products even just a year ago.” Rolled lens stock allows producers to create these products with high-speed automated systems, which reduces labor and production costs.
Pixalen Studio, a world leader in lenticular prepress technologies, developed Chromalen technology for use exclusively with Lenstar Flexo roll stock. Chromalen eliminates the registration problems of conventional flexographic printing while simultaneously eliminating “refresh” or “parallax shift” in 3-D images. The result is a very clean image with seamless depth.
