Nu Tech Coatings Announces Introduction of Newest Product from Company’s Plate Cylinder Coatings Line

Johnson City, TN June 10, 2008 — Nu Tech Coatings of Johnson City, TN. announces the introduction of the newest product from the company’s plate cylinder coatings line, the PEC HD™. The patented PEC HD, like the standard PEC coating, eliminates two major variables in the Flexographic printing process: the removal of cushion sticky back tape, and impression setting of the plate to the substrate. The company’s unique polymers are applied in .375-in. thickness to the radius of a newly manufactured or existing plate cylinder.

The print results achieved with the PED HD substantially diminish or remove the frequency and amplitude of banding or gear marking on Narrow and Mid Web Flexographic presses, while reducing waste, increasing yields, and providing predictable, high quality print on unsupported thin films and other high hold out substrates.

“We have addressed the same printing issues with the PEC HD on thin films, which our standard PEC product solves for the pressure sensitive market” says Jim Wyman, Managing Partner of Nu Tech Coatings. Narrow Web, in-line Flexo printers face distinctive challenges when printing on thin, unsupported films. The PEC HD levels the quality bar for Flexo printers to compete with offset and gravure printers for a share in the growing market for shrink sleeves.
