BASF to increase prices for all Wet-End Paper Chemicals

August 29, 2008 — Effective September 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, will raise prices by 15% for all Wet-End Paper Chemicals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The price increases are the result of significant rises in key raw material costs. For BASF these price increases are necessary to remain a reliable supplier of innovative paper chemicals.

As a leading supplier, BASF develops, produces and markets chemicals for the paper industry for the manufacture and finishing of paper and cardboard. BASF's particular strengths are effective research and development, global applications technology expertise, and the Paper Technical Center in Ludwigshafen. The business is part of the Acrylics & Dispersions division which in turn belongs to the BASF Performance Products segment. More information is available in the internet: www.basf.de/paper.
