All Printing Resources launches new Digital Label Proofing, Printing, & Production (DLP3) system for increased agility, flexibility and productivity needed to complement any flexo label printing operation.

Glendale Heights, IL (September 4, 2008) – All Printing Resources, Inc. (APR) has brought together best-of-class products to create the first truly cost effective digital proof, digital print, and digital finishing production system configured to complement any flexo label printing operation.

APR's DLP3 System combines the EFI Colorproof XF proofing solution, an Epson 4880 ink jetprinter and the Allen Datagraph Systems Digital Finishing System (an all-in-one digital proofer, digital press and digital converter solution.)

The DLP3 System is now available to produce:

  • Contract quality digital contone or halftone dot proofs.
    • Proofs can be laminated and digital die cut without creating an actual die.
    • Proofs are color managed using ICC profiles to match your conventional printing press.
  • Short run labels. Digitally print, laminate, and die cut labels ready to ship.
  • Product concepts or mock-ups.
    • Create full color labels with several different die cut options without ever creating a die.

In today’s demanding market place, the agility to react to customers’ ever-changing needs is a necessity.

“Many of our customers tell us of requests to cost effectively produce custom die-cut label mockups or very short runs with special die cuts that would be unprofitable to run flexo initially but may later turn into longer run flexo opportunities. They are looking for an affordable digital label solution that matches what their flexo press can produce and complements their overall capabilities,” says Richard Black, APR’s Director of Digital Solutions.

“We have also had printers asking for better capabilities to produce very short production runs of a customer approved digital proof or the occasional need to match a digitally printed label to their current flexo press capabilities. With this system, the printer can decide when they want to run a job digitally or conventionally, running either with comparable quality.”

Since the output of the DLP3 is color managed using ICC profiles to match a conventional flexo press, once a digital proof is approved you are assured you can reproduce the label on the production press resulting in shorter make readies and more press up-time. Essentially the system is creating a digital press proof of each label job. Once approved you have the option of running an initial production run on the system or producing the entire job depending on final quantity.

Additionally you can increase your capacity by off loading short run jobs from your conventional press to the DLP3. You can also augment your current production capabilities by running an initial label job on the system to produce a partial shipment and then run the balance of the job on your conventional press when your schedule permits.

The system is based on industry-accepted products with proven reliability. With its easy to use software and hardware, small footprint and versatility the DLP3 provides production advantages for every size label company.

All Printing Resources is a proven resource for innovative performance-enhancing products & services in flexography to achieve operational excellence, process improvement and continual cost reductions from prepress to the pressroom.
