65% of exhibition floor space has already been booked
11/10/2011, WorldPressOnline First Call - With eight months to go, Hispack, organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Graphispack Association, has already received bookings for 23,000m2, 65% of total exhibition floor space. To date, 250 direct companies -20% of them foreign, from 9 countries- have confirmed their participation.
This response from companies testifies to the interest and confidence of the Spanish packing and packaging sector in its benchmark show, which will be held from the 15th to the 18th of May. It is estimated that Hispack will bring together some 600 stands in Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via exhibition centre, at which over 1,200 companies will be represented. Hispack will also repeat its alliance with BTA (Barcelona Food Technologies Fair), boosting synergies and business with the food industry, the main consumer of packaging. The joint Hispack&Bta event is forecast to attract over 45,000 trade visitors.
To date, the sector that has booked the most space in Hispack is packing and packaging machinery (39% of the total). This is followed by raw materials and packing and packaging materials (28%) and bottling machinery and equipment (9%). The remaining exhibitors are companies dedicated to labelling, coding and marking machinery; process machinery for products to be packaged; packing and packaging intralogistics, handling, storage and distribution; point of sales advertising; environment, recovery, treatment and recycling; consultancy and engineering companies and related services.
For the president of Hispack's Organising Committee, Javier Riera-Marsá, "no other sector event is more favourable and opportune at this time for the Spanish packing and packaging industry, since the show will put emphasis on innovation, sustainability, exports, especially promoting the entry of our companies into emerging markets".
The director of Hispack, Xavier Pascual, highlights the fact that this show is acquiring, more than ever, "the added value of opportunity". He adds "The event aspires to be the turning point needed by the Spanish packing and packaging industry to recover its dynamism".
