March 2011 — Flex Essentials Inc. has recently introduced the FLEXPAK vacuum tankleak detector. Current consumer safety issues with food/medical products have made this a must have for todays packaging industry. The first 47 units shipped since November of 2010. Customers from North America, Europe and South America purchased these units after seeing the launch of this product at Pack Expo in Chicago and the K-Show in Dussledorf Germany. The FLEXPAK leak detector is one of the most successful products brought to market by Flex Essentials Inc.
The FLEXPAK leak detector is a simple, cost effective method, of ensuring high quality seals in the manufucturing of packages and in the packaging of end product. Typical examples of use are:
- Pharmaceutical or medical packaging
- Food packaging
- Liquid packaging; pouches and bottles
- production of vacuum pouches
- rigid trays with lids
- testing of bottle closures
The FLEXPAK leak detector is consists of an Acrylic tank that allows the package to be viewed from all directions. In using the tester an operator simply submerses the package in a water bath, then with simple actuation of a valve, the entire tank and package is brought under a vacuum. If air bubbles are seen leaking from the package, then the package fails the test! It is that easy. Vacuum levels are adjustable up to 27 inches of Hg. Most package producers or food packagers are using the tester to find the fail point of the package. If the fail point is deemed to close to the pass point, the producer then needs to find and correct the root cause of the problem in order that bad product is not shipped.
