MArch 2010 — Nordmeccanica and Bostik are proud to announce a new installation at Bostik of a Labo Combi 400 coater and laminator and a state of the art meter mixing unit: World Mixer for two components solvent free adhesives. Labo Combi 400 is the laboratory size (17” wide) coater and laminator from Nordmeccanica for research and development applications. The new Labo coater has been successfully installed at the Middleton. MA for the Flexible Laminations Global Business unit (GBU) concentrating on laminations and coating for food packaging applications The coater will be used to prove out adhesive performance on structures and will be open to customer trials and demonstrations upon request.
The Labo Combi 400 allows for wide flexibility of coatings thanks to the cart mounted interchangeable coating heads. The Bostik Labo Combi can be used for solvent-less. solvent-based and water-based coating technologies The 3-zone dryer with independent air supply guarantees performance at high speeds with low solvent retention that meets industry standards.
Bostik is a worldwide supplier of adhesives to a variety of industries including nonwovens, aerospace, transportation, construction, do-it-yourself and flexible packaging. The Flexible Laminations GBU was formed to concentrate on flexible packaging for all food packaging applications on a global basis. Technologies of this GBU include water-based, cold seals, solvent-based PU, solvent-less PU, hot melt, reseal and Vitel® specialty co-polyester resins. Bostik formulates adhesives that can be used from general purpose to retort/sterilizable requirements. They also provide NRL and fully synthetic cold seals to the confectionery and baked goods industry.
