Increased interest in direct laser engraving in flexographic printing

State-of-the-art technologies meet all quality requirements

March 2010 — Experts from a whole range of sectors in the industry met in Osnabrück at the start of November to discuss the subject of „repeat accuracy“. The platform set up by Innoform oaching was used to present technologies capable of delivering the enhanced quality required in the flexographic printing sector.

Press technology, press monitoring, cutting-edge screen rollers and inks were just a few of the subjects dealt with at the conference. The various talks on direct laser engraving found a particularly receptive audience and provided guests with detailed information on the possibilities of printing form manufacture, the material used for this, and the resulting benefits in the print phase.

The considerable growth in interest in direct laser engraving is illustrated by the PremiumFlexo concept. The high-resolution laser in the Premium- Setter, the elastomer printing form and digital control of the screen dot shoulder area in the PremiumProfiler give rise to directly lasered printing forms that meet the ever higher quality requirements of the market.

The next event on the subject will take place in Kassel on March 25, 2010. The DFTA spring conference is being held under the slogan „High-definition flexographic printing – quality, reproducibility and competitiveness“. The talks will include lectures on materials and laser technology as well as case studies from users on the use of direct engraving and elastomer printing forms.
