Job Description:
The Brand Solutions Division of Matthews International is seeking a Packaging Project Manager to work in our Pittsburgh, PA location.

We are seeking an experienced individual to act as a central point of communication on multiple projects. The PPM will adhere to project timelines, maintain regular status reports and coordinate team planning meetings. The PPM will work with the production team to schedule and facilitate the flow of information in all project phases. The PPM will work with the On-site Graphics Coordinator at the client site to ensure all project requirements are met.

A summary of duties to include:

  • Take ownership for designated Client brands and/or categories of work
  • Gather project information and initiate/facilitate project kick-off meetings to ensure all parties have complete understanding of the project scope and requirements
  • Communicate and maintain project timelines
  • Enter production instructions into order entry system
  • Generate production information based on design brief supplied by On-site Graphics Coordinator
  • Monitor and communicate project status to On-site Coordinator, Client and Printers
  • Quote projects and assist with obtainment of purchase orders

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Graphics Communication or related field preferred
  • 2+ Years of Packaging industry experience required
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong customer service orientation required
  • Familiarity with gravure, offset and flexo print disciplines

Position: Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Rochester, New York

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The Rochester Sealed Air/Cryovac manufacturing facility is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support Flexographic printing presses, laminators, slitters and bag machines.
  2. Main responsibilities will include supporting the presses first followed by the laminators and slitters with tertiary support for the bag machines.
  3. Plant support will include continuous improvement activities aimed at process engineering, process control enhancements and process understanding.
  4. Improving key performance metrics (i.e. rate, yield, OEE, etc.) via process verification application will be required.
  5. Implementation of lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies will be expected.
  6. Day-to-day production support, including methodical troubleshooting, will be required while working in a matrixed environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering degree, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt training and/or certification and/or equivalent experience
  • Flexographic printing process knowledge including equipment and products
  • Solid experience in, and understanding of, manufacturing
  • TPM and predictive maintenance tool knowledge and application
  • Leadership and results oriented in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Pamarco Global Graphics operates one of the largest Gravure cylinder manufacturing plants in the United States, servicing a very diverse set of customers.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of the Gravure printing process and the manufacture of gravure cylinders by the electromechanical engraving method.  

Duties include the day to day Management of the facility, production planning, capital investment recommendation, budgeting and full P and L responsibility, as well as direct communication with major customers. The successful candidate must also be able to travel from time to time mainly within the USA.

Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Shift Print Shop Team Leader is to ensure quality, safe and cost efficient operations, team management and print shop housekeeping standards.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan and meet daily/weekly production goals through efficient production processes:
    ·     Hold team members accountable for adhering to quality and safety standards.
    ·     Perform job approval quality checks on all presses and all jobs each day.
    ·     Review the daily press report looking for trends and unusual items. Implement changes for improvement as warranted.
    ·     Participate in Lean Manufacturing efforts and hold team members accountable for implementing lean processes.
  2.  Exhibit sound leadership consistent with Robbie’s culture:
    ·     Train and mentor team members to value and respect one another.
    ·     Listen to all team members and provide assistance with resolving issues as they arise.

    ·     Audit and ensure that hazardous waste procedures are followed.
    ·     Ensure that all team members attend annual hazardous waste training.
  6. Work in collaboration with other departments to meet their needs and answer questions regarding printing operations:
    ·     Participate in press approvals that occur on assigned shift with customer service and sales.
    ·     Provide scheduling and prepro team with any information needed to efficiently produce printed products.
    ·     Work with quality and continuous process improvement team members to resolve print issues and prevent problems in the future.
  7. Communicate and measure data regarding production goals and achievements:
    ·     Track information and update scoreboards related to production goals.
    ·     Complete end-of-shift reports and distribute each day, noting any obstacles or achievements.
    ·     Ensure team members provide updated information to prepro and/or quality team related to production changes.
    ·     Hold team huddles to communicate production achievements and concerns.
  8. Handle administrative duties as needed:
    ·     Review and approve time and attendance records.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
