In this role you will Lead the efforts of a production team. Duties include planning, organizing, training, coaching, compliance with various customers, company, government requirements and guidelines

Duties of the role include:

  • Train, coach, evaluate and reinforce process excellence principles with Team Advisors and partners
  • Lead team efforts in meeting or exceeding goals in Productivity, Raw Material Waste, Safety, Customer Complaints, and Service.
  • Work with Plant Manager in identifying and communicating customer requirements. Develop PCP?s to insure customer requirements are met.
  • Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., AIB, OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.
  • Use of statistical problem solving methods and other quality tools to identify opportunities to make process improvements
  • Work with the team to make sure that daily production is evaluated to maximize efficiencies, making necessary adjustments as conditions change
  • Work with the Plant Manager and team in identifying potential capital improvements assisting with analysis and justification.
  • Administer various company, plant or department processes in certification programs, pay systems, assessment/feedback processes, document control and product traceability.

Position Summary:
This position focuses on current business management by providing packaging category marketing leadership, including business performance tracking, analysis and reporting, forecasting, current product management, and world-wide program development. It provides month-to-month packaging business leadership required to achieve and sustain winning market positions. It reports directly to the Director, Global Product Marketing, WW Packaging Products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Current Product Management: Month-to-month management of assigned packaging products.
  • Business Performance Metrics: Collect appropriate data, analyze and report business performance against objectives.
    Internal: COGS, SG&A, inventory, revenue, margin and profit
  • External: market share, unit placements and inventory, promotion tracking, competitor share, and promotion tracking
  • Forecasting and Production Planning: Work with Regions to align on market sizing and drive the WW category forecast process. Maintain current knowledge of regional category performance issues, promotional plans, and seasonality.
  • Work closely with the Regions to ensure product availability to meet regional needs
  • Provide inputs to longer-term product platform forecasts, and work with Operations to plan production and capacity adjustments and new infrastructure investments
  • Current Category Business Management: Provide a global integration point for category business issue identification and resolution.  
  • Collaborate with Market Development and Regions to characterize category business performance issues.  
  • Define and implement corrective actions as appropriate, including product updates, end user and channel programs and promotions, pricing changes, etc.
  • Category portfolio management: Ensure category system and solution line ups make sense for the target market segments.  
  • Collaborate with Future Product Marketing to plan and execute product launches and rollovers
  • Adjust and re-articulate positioning as required to optimize the in-market offer as new systems are launched, older ones discontinued, and existing systems are enhanced
  • Work with Current Product Engineering to plan and manage updates to current products, respond to RFQs, and provide product management for creation of custom solutions
  • Coordinate with product support organizations to implement product updates and fixes
  • Maintain links with Partner Mktg and ecosystem partners to ensure continued 3rd-party solution compatibility and continued ecosystem fit
  • Pricing Model Management: Contributes to process for publishing regular system pricing guidelines and drives the WW pricing changes for the category. Includes big deal support and program/promotional pricing.
  • Competitive analysis and response: Anticipate and track short-term competitor moves in the market place. Work with the training manager, Regions, and Marcom to define, develop, and deliver appropriate response and sell-against materials to the Go-To-Market (GTM) organizations and channels.
  • Installed base management: Build knowledgebase of installed base customers and mine continuously for opportunities to grow page counts, proactively manage product lifecycles and rollovers, and drive upgrade and consumables revenue streams.

  • Efficient in label converting techniques and application of flexible wrap around labels, in mould labels, aluminum lid labels, barcode labels, boarding pass , baggage tag labels, security labels with thermo chromic inks , scratch labels, rotary screen printing applications, hot foiling & cold foil techniques.
  • Good knowledge & trouble shooting experience with label applicators, application problems, static elimination and uv curing.
  • Good knowledge of special applications – hot foil stamping, cold foil stamping, scratch off foils, aluminum lids conversion, in mould labels, security labels, rotary screen printing, Booklet label conversion
  • Know how in effective utilization of rotary tooling (dies, rotary cutting dies for carton conversion)
  • Practical know how of different grade of adhesives &adhesive performance for different and specific end use applications.
  • Good motivator, leadership skills and man management experience and sales support.
  • Good hands-on operating experience with Nipeter / Gallus / Gidue and Mark Andy Narrow web label presses.
